23 Feb 09 It is Monday morning and the weather looks good. So we are going to through off the lines and start the crossing. Next time should be Panama City on Thursday or Friday. You can keep track with the little dots on the Spot tracking site. 21 Feb 09 Well it is Saturday and the weather is looking good for our trip home on Monday. It is 61 deg this morning and feels cold, but then I look at the dock and it showed 30.1 deg, it is time for it to warm up for our trip. Have not done much, the three of us went to Key West on the bus, I did a 12 mile walk yesterday, and have become regulars at Frost's the bar at the marina. Not much else from here. 18 Feb 09 - N 24 42.200 W 081 06.739 I could not take the bouncing around so I got a slip in Marathon Marina. This is the same place we stayed last year, but the only one available. At least now we can spend the next 5 days in comfort. May even get a trip to Key West in. 18 Feb 09 - N 24 41.495 W 081 07.200 I guess I should have known better than to name this page "Waiting to Cross". We arrived outside of Boot Key (Marathon) about midnight. Got up this morning and called the City Marina for a Mooring Ball to wait out the two cold fronts coming through Thursday and Sunday, but none available so we are stuck at anchor for 5 days in the rough water to the west of boot key. So if boredom does not make me crazy I will let you know more. 17 Feb 09 Ghada and Dennis left this morning so we started down the Hawk Channel to Marathon Key. This gave us the chance to check out the "SPOT" tracking device I got at the boat show. Now you can see almost real time (every 10 Min) where we are. View our track link is on the one page up. It looks like we will get to Marathon about 1 AM. We will be looking at the weather for a crossing, but it looks like this weekend will be the soonest. |
